The Union of Municipalities of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe, has launched an initiative to collect good practices in the field of water services. The aim of this activity is to identify, promote, and share successful practical examples that contribute to improving the efficiency, sustainability, and quality of public services in local communities.
This call aims to encourage the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and innovative solutions among municipalities and water utility companies in the region. The collected good practices will serve as inspiration for other local governments and water utilities, as well as provide concrete support in the planning, implementation, and improvement of water services. The idea is to highlight and recognize successful examples and promote their further use as models that contribute to better management, more efficient use of resources, and environmental protection.
The call covers three thematic areas: asset management, capital investment projects, and energy efficiency and climate action.
In each of these areas, local governments and water utility companies have the opportunity to present their initiatives, projects, and programs that have delivered tangible results—whether through improved infrastructure, energy and resource savings, increased service reliability, or enhanced planning and asset management.
The good practices collected will be compiled and presented at the regional level, further strengthening the network of cooperation and mutual support among local communities in Southeast Europe.
Municipalities and water utility companies may submit their applications by 17 November 2025 by completing the forms provided with the call.
This initiative is an opportunity for local governments and water utility companies to showcase their achievements, contribute to shared learning, and demonstrate that dedicated work, knowledge, and innovation can bring tangible benefits to citizens and the community as a whole.
