The Union of Municipalities allocated €700,000 for less developed municipalities.

The Union of Municipalities of Montenegro has announced a Public Call for the allocation of funds for the implementation of development projects of interest to local self-government units for 2025. An amount of €410,000.00 has been allocated for the implementation of this Call, based on the Financial Plan of the Union of Municipalities.

The subject of this Public Call is the allocation of funds for the preparation/revision of technical documentation for the construction/reconstruction of local infrastructure, including: feasibility and justification studies, conceptual solutions, conceptual designs, main designs, revised main designs, as-built designs, and other types of technical documentation in accordance with the law.

The subject of funding is planned or contracted technical documentation.

The right to participate in the allocation procedure under this Public Call is granted to local self-government units that are beneficiaries of the Equalization Fund, namely: Andrijevica, Bar, Zeta, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Gusinje, Danilovgrad, Žabljak, Kolašin, Mojkovac, Nikšić, Petnjica, Plav, Plužine, Pljevlja, Rožaje, Tuzi, Ulcinj, and Šavnik.

The maximum amount of approved funds per municipality is €21,478.95.

Local self-government units (LSGs) may submit applications for several development projects, up to the total allocated amount.

In addition, the Union of Municipalities has an additional €290,000 available for this purpose from the previous year, which is also at the disposal of the municipalities.

The Union of Municipalities shall adopt a decision on the allocation of funds within five days from the date of submission of a complete application.

Since 2023, the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro has been providing partial financing for the preparation and revision of municipal project documentation — conceptual and main designs. In this way, we strengthen less developed municipalities that do not have sufficient budgetary resources to independently cover these costs and thus apply, among other things, for donor funds.

We remind that, for the financing of the preparation or revision of technical documentation for the construction or reconstruction of local infrastructure — including feasibility studies, conceptual solutions, conceptual designs, main designs, revised main designs, as-built designs, environmental impact assessment studies, and other technical documentation — the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro allocated €475,418.38 in the previous year.
