With the aim of enhancing the transparency of the negotiation process and strengthening dialogue between the Government, local self-government authorities, and civil society organizations/associations in Montenegro's EU accession process, the Ministry of European Affairs is organizing consultations on Negotiating Chapter 13 – Fisheries, an important area within the EU accession negotiations.
The consultations will take place on Monday, 29 September 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at Europe House in Bar (Bulevar 24. novembra)
The following speakers will meet with representatives of local self-government authorities and civil society organizations:
- Biljana Papović, state secretary at the Ministry of European Affairs
- Katarina Burzanovićhead of the Negotiating working group and director general of the Directorate for fisheries at the Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water management
- Aleksandar Joksimović, scientific advisor at the institute of marine biology
The event is organized as part of the EU4ME project – support for communicating the European integration process – funded by the European Union.
Bearing in mind the Government's plan to provisionally close negotiations with the European Union in Chapter 13 – Fisheries by the end of the year, the aim of the event is to present the concrete benefits of membership, as well as to exchange views on future plans, obligations and challenges within the framework of fisheries policy.
