Second round of trainings for leadership in local governments

26 October 2012 – The second round of trainings from the Program “Development of leadership skills in a local government” was organized in Podgorica from 24-26 October 2012 by the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro with support of the Council of Europe.

The Program is intended for leadership and elected representatives in local governments. The Program is implemented by the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro and the Council of Europe, in the scope of the Leaders Academy of the Council of Europe.

Trainings are consisted of a theoretical part where it was shown how others implemented the principles of good leadership in specific situations and of practical exercises related to deferent situations which help to develop leadership skills.

Topics of the second round of trainings were such as: Road map towards dynamic municipality; Benchmarking criteria for efficient local governments; Approach to managing performance in a local government; and Public participation in a local government’s performance.

The first round of trainings from the Program of the “Development of leadership skills in local government” was delivered in Podgorica from 15-17 May 2012.

The Program is implemented by the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro and the Council of Europe, in the scope of the Leaders Academy of the Council of Europe. The Program is intended for leadership and elected representatives in local governments.

Trainings are consisted of a theoretical part where it was shown how others implemented the principles of good leadership in specific situations and of practical exercises related to deferent situations which help to develop leadership skills.

The Program is consisted of three rounds of 3-days trainings, delivered by experts of Council of Europe, Mr. John Jackson and Mrs. Katalin Palai.

After the trainings, participants will be granted with the Certificates of the Leaders’ Academy of the Council of Europe.
